I Got A Ticket!

Let’s see what class you need, as there are three options. Please watch the video before deciding.

Did an attorney or friend recommend you take an 8hr or 12hr class before court (voluntary)?

The 8hr is called Driver Improvement Course (DIC) or Defensive Driving (National Safety Council). We carry the online version of the first and can direct you to a local in-person driving school for the second. This is mainly used for moving violations such as running a light, following too closely, or a lower miles-per-hour speeding ticket. The online course can be found here.

The 4hr is called RADEP (Reckless Aggressive Driver Education Program) or Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving (National Safety Council). We carry the online version of the first and can direct you to a local in-person driving school for the second. This course is used for moving violations such as failure to yield, reckless driving, or a higher miles-per-hour speeding ticket (15 or over). You will need to take both the 8hr and 4hr. Why take two? Because the first (8hr) will be sent to DMV by us and you will receive five demerit points off your licence. You can also email it to your insurance company for a discount. The second course (4hr) is for the court.

If you are taking this before court, we recommend the online course we carry. You can find it here.

If your attorney is recommending only the in-person course, we recommend Uncle Geri’s Driving Academy, which you can find here.

You went to court and they recommended that you complete a driving course before coming back to court again (Voluntary):

Read through the court papers and determine whether it states the classes must be in-person or can be taken online. When in doubt, call the court clerk of the district that gave you the ticket. They will know.

If they allow an 8hr online course, you can find it here.

If they require an 8hr in-person course, we recommend Uncle Geri’s Driving Academy, which you can find here.

If they allow a 12hr online course, you will need to take both the 8 and 4-hour course, which can be found here.

If they require a 12hr in-person course, we recommend Uncle Geri’s Driving Academy, which you can find here.

You went to court and they require a driving course, but you are not allowed to get points off from DMV or give the certificate to your insurance company for a discount (NCT):

If they allow an 8hr online course, you can find it here.

If they require an 8hr in-person course, we recommend Uncle Geri’s Driving Academy, which you can find here.

If they allow a 12hr online course, you can find it here.

If they require a 12hr in-person course, we recommend Uncle Geri’s Driving Academy, which you can find here.
